ENEXA and Zona Franca Parque Central Inaugurate One of Latin America's Largest Floating Solar Plants

Turbaco, Bolívar, October 9, 2025 —ENEXA, the renewable energy division of Proctek Group, joined Zona Franca Parque Central to officially inaugurate YurbaQua, a floating solar plant that ranks among the largest of its kind in Latin America.

Located on a 5.3-hectare reservoir in Turbaco, Bolívar, the first phase of the project features more than 2,300 solar panels with a generation capacity of 1.4 MW, enough to power the operations of the industrial park where it sits. A second phase is already planned, which will add over 5,000 panels to reach 2.8 MW of total capacity and avoid an estimated 23,000 tons of CO2 per year, the equivalent of planting 53,000 trees.

"This project positions Cartagena as an investment destination with a forward-looking vision," said Bernard Gilchrist, General Manager of Zona Franca Parque Central. Daniel Maya, CEO of ENEXA, added that YurbaQua reaffirms the Caribbean's potential to become a clean energy hub for the region.

The project is a key step in Zona Franca Parque Central's path toward becoming a certified Eco-Industrial Park, and marks a significant milestone for ENEXA as it scales its renewable energy portfolio across Latin America.
