What is HAZOP and when do I need one?
HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) is a systematic deviation analysis for industrial processes that identifies safety and operability risks. It is mandatory before commissioning new plants, after major changes (MOC), and every 5 years to maintain PSM compliance (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119). Proctek facilitates HAZOPs with certified leaders and dedicated software.
How is the SIL of a safety function determined?
The Safety Integrity Level (SIL 1-4) is determined through risk analysis such as LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis) or risk matrix, following IEC 61508 and IEC 61511. Proctek performs SIL determination studies, SIL verification (PFDavg/PFH calculation) and SIS validation from design through commissioning.
Do you design Fire and Gas (F&G) detection systems?
Yes. Proctek designs Fire and Gas systems under IEC 60079, NFPA 72 and API 14C, including 3D coverage mapping per sensor, detector selection (IR, UV, catalytic, ultrasonic), voting architecture (1oo2, 2oo3) and cause-and-effect matrix logic with automatic shutdown.
Do you help with OSHA PSM or local safety compliance?
Yes. Proctek supports OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 (PSM) compliance and CCPS guidelines, plus local regulations in Colombia (Resolución 1409), Peru (DS 024-2016-EM), Mexico (NOM-028-STPS) and other LATAM countries. This covers the 14 PSM elements: PHA, MOC, training, PSI, MI, audits, etc.
Do you perform Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA)?
Yes. Proctek performs QRA and consequence modeling for fires, explosions (VCE, BLEVE) and toxic gas dispersion using industry software like PHAST, FLACS or DNV Safeti. Deliverables include individual risk contours, F-N societal risk and ALARP risk reduction recommendations.
