Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as an Automation Technician or in a similar role. Understanding of PLC programming languages and HMI software. Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and Profibus. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Hands-on electrical troubleshooting, including the use of multimeters. Familiarity with mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of safety standards for automation systems and industrial environments; must be able to work alone. Valid driver's license (will be required to drive a company vehicle).

The Automation Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a background in automation technology and a passion for innovation and problem-solving.

Key responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and commission automation equipment and systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, and robotic systems.
  • Basic programming and debugging of PLCs and HMIs to perform desired functions and interface with other control systems.
  • Perform basic calibration on instrumentation: pressure, flow, differential pressure, temperature, level transmitters, and control valves.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to identify and address issues before they cause downtime.
  • Troubleshoot automation systems to diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software problems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to implement automation solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and safety, and recommend upgrades.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and system modifications.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with automation equipment and installations.
